Des Moines SEO and other media outlets are reporting that Carlos Zambrano expected to pitch in Des Moines sometime this week while trying to rehab his body and his mind.
Zambrano, currently on the restricted list and out of action since his well-chronicled blow-up in the Cubs dugout during a game against the Chicago White Sox June 25, was scheduled to throw some simulated innings Monday at the Cubs’ complex in Mesa, Ariz. Chicago general manager Jim Hendry told the Chicago Tribune that there was no time frame for Zambrano’s return to the major league club.
